Stardate:2403.10.5 Stardate: 2406.10.06 (USS Nimitz - Bridge- SFI/2O – Lt.Cmdr John Wilson - 1006) John gripped the handrail for the ninth time; the ship was taking a fair beating. The fighters at the moment were being held off but the problem was that every time that the Nimitz discharged the phaser it slowed the reconfiguring down. It was taking a while to get them altered. It would have been simpler to alter a torpedo however the damage would in all probability engulf the entire trawler. "Mr. Wilson, it's time. Perform your miracle." John turned his head to the captain and gripped the rail again. The computer still displayed a waiting icon counting down and leaving 20 seconds left. John bit his lip and then let go. “Im working on it sir,” John stated getting lurched forward as another volley struck the ship. "Prepare to transport assault team on Lt. Commander Wilson's mark," Sash ordered. John began to type faster attempting to cut corners and at least give the Nimitz a fighting chance. “Onyx you’ve got two shots get the generators!” John yelled at the top of his lungs. (Reply Kateb) In the split second Kateb had targeted the shield generators and the phaser’s hummed once more. John turned to the operations officer and nodded. “Begin transport now!” John felt his heart skip a beat as the away teams were going to be transported. The hope of the entire squadron now rested in their arms, he hoped they were up to the task. As John focused once more on the Bridge where the smoke was starting to rise up from the coolant being released. John began to walk towards the First Officers seat. As he began to walk over he heard the Captain’s voice once more. "Now Simbol, turn. Shields up. Brace for impact." John looked up at the defiant class ship decloaking on the view screen. As it did the pulse phaser’s fired, at this distance there was not much in it. As John watched the bolts of energy hurtle towards the ship he moved his hands to brace on the wall. As his hands touched the wall he felt the ship lurch beneath him. As it lurched back he heard the bang and then saw the flash as the consol next to him blew out. At this distance there wasn’t much left for him to do, as the debris flew forward he did not have time to react. The hot glass and shards of metal cut through his uniform and body. The searing metal burnt his skin as it came into contact with it. Gritting his teeth he felt a moment of weightlessness as his body flew over the rail. His moment of weightlessness was of course cut short; he stuck the ground hard landing on his back. In the moments of consciousness he had left he looked at his stomach that was covered in blood and his singed uniform. Laying his head back he closed his eyes. As his eyes finally shut there was no pain any more nor ringing of the alert siren just silence. As he began to feel released he felt himself being dragged back like he was involved in a battle for possession of his soul. Reeling in pain once more he saw a face looking up at him. Straining to speak he uttered a few words. “Gideon, friend,” John squinted as the pain in his gut increased. “Tell Mish…there is another….” He didn’t have the breath left. The battle was over for him, John Wilson had fell in battle. The worst thing was that in the end he did not get to relieve his life in a instant. It had flet like a eternity and one final secrete still remained. One secrete he was about to take to the grave, a face that was going to haunt him forever. That was the final image he saw, the one man he was going to let down and there was nothing left that he could do. Stardate:2406.10.5 Sash smiled as he looked at the tactical display. I want those deployed here, here and here," he pointed to three targets on the display. Moments later there was a hum as the mines were dispersed. Sash always said that timing was everything. This proved to be a truism more often than not. As the last set of mines were set there was a sudden explossion. Apparently the mines were deployed as one of the fighters was attempting to make it's way through a small blind spot in the Nimitz's sensor grid. It flew right into the group of mines, detonating all of them at the same time. With only two fighters remaining Sash was begining to feel a little better ,buthealsoknewthattheAlamowashurtlingtowardsthem.Onyxwasmanagingtokeeptheremainingfightersbusy.It was time. "Helm," he called out "set heading to 247mark6." A moment later Asoru said, "Sir, that takes us in a collision course with the trawler." Sash looked at him as if saying, "And your point is...?" Asoru shut his mouth and set the coordinates. "Engage, at full impulse." Sash said. The ship lept towards the trawler. The trawler came speeding towards their view screen. "When I say, veer off hard to port." He could feel Asoru relax at that order. "Mr. Wilson, it's time. Perform your miracle." (reply Wilson) "Prepare to transport assault team on Lt. Commander Wilson's mark," Sash ordered. (reply Wilson) As the ship barrelled towards the trawler the tension could be felt like a thin layer of sweat. Then another voice called out. "Captain, something is decloaking stern side. It's the Alamo." "Now Simbol, turn. Shileds up. Brace for impact." Stardate:2406.10.5 Stardate: 2406.10.06 (USS Alamo - Bridge- CO, Captain Henre LaBeau - 1007) During the Alamo's sprint to the scene of the battle Henre had ordered Galk to concentrate on pinpointing the Nimitz's weak spots and given fire control to Lt. Calder who was waiting anxiously as the Alamo neared her destination, the fighters were still hammering the Nimitz as they approached, because of the close nature of the combat Henre waived manuever Alpha and elected to move in close for the attack. As the Alamo neared phaser range one of the fighters exploded and the Nimitz leaped at the trawler. "Captain! Nimitz has beamed boarding parties onto the trawler!" Called CSO Belite. "Lt. Calder prepare to fire phasers, target her shield generator relays. I want those shields brought down." Galk shouted from Tac I. (Reply: LT. Calder) Henre watched the screen as the distance counted down to 150,000 kilometers then 140,000. They were now well within range of the phasers but couldn't afford a miss at this range. When the counter reached 100,000 kilometers Henre called out. "Mr. Damas lower cloak and stand by to reengage!" (Reply: Lt. Damas) "Mr. Jennings slow to full impulse, Mr. Calder fire phasers!" (Reply: Lt. Calder) Henre saw the burst of fire splash against the Nimitz's shields as they released their enormous energy against the enemy ship. He then looked back to his left. "Mr. Vandergriff watch those shields closely, nursemaid them if you have to; we can't afford to let ourselves get caught with our pants down in this engagement Mon Ami`." (Reply: Lt. Vandergriff) There was a jolt as phaser fire from the Nimitz struck the Alamo and it shuddered momentarily, then the ship was flying free again. "Recloak Mr Damas and give me a status report." Henre called. (Reply: Lt. Damas) "Mr. Jennings turn us around on the same flight plane and raise the ship 5,000 meters over zero bubble, I want to come down on her from above on the same axis." "Aye Captain." Lt. Jennings called. "Turning around and raising plane 5,000 meters." "Mr. Calder stand by to target shield generator relays again, I want her ripped wide open." Henre called. Stardate:2406.10.5 Stardate: 2406.10.06 (USS Nimitz - Bridge- FO - Commander Kestra Troi - 1010) Kestra could feel the mounting anxiety and knew that something was about to happen. Tapping her commbadge, which was set to the away team at the moment, "Ok Team we are about to be sent over. What ever happens I am proud of each and every one of the team. Let's do it without as much bloodshed as we can and all of us come back home." Tapping it once again, ::Sash we are ready:: She mentally told Sash. She saw that the security team that was accompanying her had their weapons at the ready, so, she decided to bring out hers also. She never liked having to fire at anyone, but, she would and have when needed. She set hers to heavy stun. The holodeck program they all went through gave them some idea of what it would be like when they finally were beamed aboard. She knew that it could be worse or even better as the people factor was hard to estimate. Kestra's team had faced themselves in a manner that they would be facing every direction when they were beamed in. All of them had their weapons pointing out and she was about to say something once again when she felt the familiar feeling of being transported. This one felt a bit different than the normal ones, as if they were being pinpointed. Stardate:2406.10.5 Stardate: 2406.10.06 (USS Nimitz – Transporter Room 1- CMO – Lt. [Dr.] BigWill Kinkaid - 1011) =^= Ok, Team, we are about to be sent over. What ever happens, I am proud of each and every one of the team. Let's do it without as much bloodshed as we can and all of us come back home. =^= Commander Troi said as if the worst was about to happen. Kinkaid had this omnipotent feeling that his life would be watched over by someone he did not have a clear vision on in the event the worst would ever to occur. His brief speech to the away team brought a sense of motivation as the transporter chief activated the transporter beam. Kinkaid stood ready as he faded into the air. Stardate:2406.10.5 Stardate: 2406.10.06 (USS Nimitz, ransporter room 4 - Lt. (jg) Saleke - 1012) Saleke snapped instantly out of his meditation as Commander Troi called the Away Teams. =^= Ok Team we are about to be sent over. What ever happens I am proud of each and every one of the teams. Let's do it without as much bloodshed as we can and all of us come back home.=^= Saleke nodded to Ensign Slytherwald as he readied his phaser then he and the others in the group took their places on the transporter pads. Knowing they would be beaming directly to the bridge of the Trawler the Vulcan expected resistance but knew they had the benefit of numbers, his only concern was that the Captain of the Trawler with little or no combat experience would not recognize the uselessness of his position and put up an ill-advised fight causing he or some of his people to be killed in the melee. Stardate:2406.10.5 Stardate: 2406.10.06 (Shiping Trawler Archimedes- Bridge- CO - Captain Larry Madden- 1013) "No reply from the Alamo sir, they must be jamming our signal." There was an explosion but the shields held. "Damn it all," he accidentally said out loud. "Captain," came a call from Ops, "Something's happening to our shields. There's something coming through them. A transporter signal? But how?" "They must have our shield frequencies," Madden shouted. "Get ready to defend yourselves." The hum of the transporter ended quickly and Madden saw at least 8 people appear on the bridge. One of them was like a walking rock, and held his attention for a moment. The whole bridge stopped, the only thing moving was the dancing lights on the displays. The tableau was broken when a woman stepped forward and addressed him. "Captain, I am Commander Troi of the Nimitz ordering you to surrender or we will take the ship by force if necessary." Madden's mouth opened but nothing came out. His hand was on his phaser, but he could tell they were outnumbered and outclassed in a fight. "You can't surrender Captain," was the call from Torrence, his security man. Then a Vulcan spoke, warning them against fighting. That was all the encouragement that Torremce needed to start firing. He was dropped by the next shot. Son there was phaser fire all around him. Madden could only watch as memeber after member of his crew fell or dove for cover. Soon the only person standing was Edward Gideon. He looked over at Gideon, who looked back at him. There was a ar off, almost sick look on his face. Then he was looking at Gideon's phaser. His gaze went back to his face. "Eddie, what..." That was all he got out. the next thing he felt was the searing pain of the phaser. He staggered back by the force and then dropped to his knees. He looked at his chest and then once again at Edward, realizing suddenly what had just happened. "Why?" Then Madden fell to the ground, and the world turned black around him. Stardate:2406.10.5 Stardate: 2406.10.06 (Shipping Trawler Archimedes - Bridge - OPS - Lt.Cmdr Edward Gideon -1014) The transport had taken what felt like a eternity for Edward, since Wilson had asked him for his help he knew this moment was coming however the shock still made him jump out of his skin. If his feelings were wrong he was about to hand over a shipment of antimatter to the enemy. The terrorist applications for antimatter were terrible, pure antimatter allowed to collide with matter would have the effect of 10 x a nuclear warhead. Since his family had seen the start of the third world war he held no desire to see it once more. As the people who had boarded the trawler pointed weapons at him he had no idea what to do. The phaser still sat idly on his waist waiting for the decision. Pausing for words he searched for something to say, unfortunately the words just got stuck in his throat. He heard the murmuring of the Tactical officer for the back of the room. "Captain, we cant surrender the ship," The Human at the back stated, Edward paused in thought if he drew chances are it could spark the events however if the security officer fired it would start events. The third option was that maybe he had been wrong and maybe they were terrorist in that case it was his duty to stop them. Edwards's decision was about to be made for him. As was expected life never went easy. The whistle as the security officer's phaser hissed towards the Nimitz away team out of natural reaction Edward drew his phaser. From that point he knew there were two options shoot or be shot. Edward took a moment to aim weighing up his options; he looked at the security officer taking aim once more. In the split second he had he made his choice. His phaser whistled as the beam shot out and struck the security officer in the chest throwing him back across the Bridge. The Nimitz crew had dived for cover as per their training. Edward did little more than stand there numb not knowing what to do now. The phaser was still in his hand but he could not feel it. He felt nothing but numbness; he had just shot one of his own. He had betrayed the ancient covenant of his people. Looking around to the Nimitz FO he spoke in stammered speech. "I do believe we surrender Commander," Stardate:2406.10.5 Stardate: 2406.10.06 (Shipping Trawler Archimedes - Bridge - Nimitz FO Commander Troi - 1015) As she materialized on the bridge she quickly looked for the Captain aiming her phaser at him. She noticed that both of her team transports were accomplished. "Captain, I am Commander Troi of the Nimitz ordering you to surrender or we will take the ship by force if necessary." She hoped that the captain would do as he was told. She knew that her crew had the others covered and would act accordingly if anything started. Stardate:2406.10.5 Stardate: 2406.10.06 (Shipping Trawler Archimedes - Bridge - Nimitz CMO - Lt. BigWill Kinkaid - 1016) It seemed like an eternity in the transporter beam whether the Nimitz was hit by a concentrated phaser attack or if the asteroids’ magnetic field had caused some type of flux with the transporter buffers upon energizing the transporter system. Kinkaid could feel himself coming together as the beam faded and he along with the rest of Team Alpha were in place on the bridge of the trawler. Kinkaid quickly activated his tricorder and began scanning the bridge and her crew. The scans showed that the levels of radiation from the shipment of anti-matter were within tolerance range before any inoculations were to occur. A quick visual scan revealed that some of the bridge crew were not fully armed that only the senior members had handheld phasers, which were pointing at his general direction. (Reply anyone on the away team on the bridge of the Trawler) Kinkaid realized that this was not the time for idleness, but it could not be helped with phasers aimed at him and the away team. Stardate:2406.10.5 (Shipping Trawler Archimedes - Bridge - Lt. (jg) Saleke - 1017) The disorientation of the transporter beam soon hit and Saleke flowed with it while noticing there was something different about it, the firefight was probably necessitating adjustments to the beam during transport. When the transport was complete he dropped into a crouch and targeted the nearest officer who happened to be the pilot of the Trawler. Saleke motioned to the man and said. "Keep your hands away from your weapon, you have no logical alternative." In the background he heard the FO calling for the Captain's surrender. The pilot hesitated in mid-grab for his weapon in an agony of indecision, he saw the hopelessness of his situation but seemed to be waiting for the Captain's instructions. Saleke was within a breath of touching the trigger when a security officer from the Archimedes called out. “Captain, we can't surrender the ship,” Suddenly Saleke heard phaser discharges and threw himself into the pilot who was halfway out of his seat causing both of them to go flying over the control console and the Vulcan fell heavily on top of the human who struggled weakly to get him off. Saleke plucked the man's phaser from his belt as he looked over the console and took in the scene. The Lt. Commander stood with his phaser in his hand and had apparently shot one of his own people. Saleke raised his phaser toward the man as he stammered. “I do believe we surrender Commander,” The man appeared stunned at what he had done and numb to his surroundings, Saleke walked from the console and circled around so that the man could see him and said in even tones to the officer, " Drop your weapon sir. Do not make me fire at you." Saleke was aware that in the man's emotional state of mind he might do nearly anything once the shock wore off, though he had helped them it was necessary to disarm him. Stardate:2406.10.5 Stardate: 2406.10.06 (Shipping Trawler Archimedes - Bridge - Lt Dru Tagon- 1018) Tagon did not favor having his molecules disrupted then rearragnged, but he lived with it as it wwas the best, fastest mode of transportation. Besides, intelectually he knew that it was pretty safe. However, that transport was different. It was as if they had been squeezed between the invisible bars of a cage to fit into the room. It took him a moment to reorient himself and locate Commander Troi. "Captain," she said, "I am Commander Troi of the Nimitz ordering you to surrender or we will take the ship by force if necessary." There was a quick shuffle as hands went to phasers. Then Saleke said, in an even, cold tone. "Keep your hands away from your weapon, you have no logical alternative." There was call from a trawler security man to not give up the ship and a phaser went off. There was an answer to that pahser and the next thing bodies were flying. There was a man standing in the middle of it, who appeared to be frozen. He moved to pull his phaser on Kestra. Tagon walked over to him in one big step, wagged a finger at him, and with the same finger tapped him on the head. He fell to the floor, unconscious. Then he saw something strange. One of the Archimedes officers turned and fired upoon his own Captain. Tagon moved towards him before anything else could go on. He called out. "I do believe we surrender Commander," he called out. Saleke turned on him as well, "Drop your weapon sir. Do not make me fire at you." The phaser fire quickly ended and Dru checked to make sure Troi was still within an arms reach. He moved quickly to the tactical station and reinforced the Archimedes sheilds. It wouldn't do to lose the Commander because of something so easy. With that done he was standing behind his charge once again. Stardate:2406.10.5 Stardate: 2406.10.06 (USS Nimitz - Antimatter-Pod Container Room 1 - Major Shondar Dorkin & Team - 1019) =/=Remember boys, no phaser fire!=\= Shondar bellowed as the Marines scattered moments after beaming over and running from the Transporter Room to the Containment deck. They were surrounded by more Anti-matter then could be used by a Fleet in a year, one wrong move and everything went sky high for several light-minutes around. Shondar grunted as he rounded a tower of anti-matter pods and came face to face with a security guard. He grabbed the phaser rifle the man swung at him, then yanked on it while shoving out palm-forward with his free hand. The result was no contest, the man's neck cracked from the sheer strength of the hit. The MCO grunted and dropped the man's phaser rifle as he fell to the deck, there were times the strength-assists of the BDU were a little -too- much. =/=Heads up, the Anti-matter teams are armed, don't let em shoot, whatever the cost!=\= Several voices gave an affirmative over the Marine-only band. The Tellarite focused his piggish eyes inward, looking at the placement of his men as they rapidly crawled through the holding areas, trying to scare security guards out of their cubby-holes. The storage area on these ships were huge, multiple levels, and dangerous. They were taking it slow, all the Marines were armed but none were slinging anything that would fire. He heard a thump to the side, and made his way slowly in that direction. There was a solid -thump- on his helmet as another Security guard hit him full-strength with a phaser rifle slung like a baseball bat, not that it mattered much to Shondar who was in full BDU. Shondar swung out with his arm and caught the leg of the guard, then yanked hard and pulled the man to the ground. After taking a moment to kick the phaser away, he knelt down HARD on the man's chest, brought his arm back, and followed through with a solid punch that left the guard bleeding and unconscious, yet alive. The Tellarite grumbled, "Inconsiderate bastiches, scratching up my armor like that." He stood even as he was speaking and continued down his assigned corridor, rooting out resistance. He frowned as he came to a junction, there didn't seem to be enough guards down here, this place was supposed to be crawling. He turned another corner and hand precisely enough time to open his eyes wide in shock. Another Security guard was standing there, his phaser pointed. A Blast took Dorkin directly in the chest, throwing him back and spinning him over. He landed several feet away on his front, =/=We got a crazy guard over here, kill the hash'put!=\= he bellowed Dorkin had his hand around his combat knife and was on his back two moments after he landed, though his BDU didn't quite want to answer the way he was ordering it too. He turned and, half a moment later, tossed his knife with all his strength, but he was a tad too late. The guard got one more shot off before a foot and a half of steel buried itself in his chest, and Dorkin took another hit, this time to the gut. The Tellarite cursed loudly as the BDU came alive around him. "Suit Status!" he managed to say around curses. The processor in his helmet took a moment, and then a suit status report started scrolling over his HUD, at the same time a voice spoke in his earpiece. [Suit Integrity in the Chest Piece is down to twenty percent, two shots of level 9 Federation phaser fire were taken near point blank. Emergency repair system and nanites have been activated, estimated one hour until maximum recoverable integrity of 72% is achieved. Minimal damage to forward servo-motors, full recovery estimated within ten minutes.] The Marine stood, his chest aching slightly and two major burn-marks showing on his chest-plate. His armor was still intact, but it couldn't take another hit in the chest of anything like that strength again, not for an hour at least. At this point, it might not even stop a level 1 stun-shot. That angered him, it angered him bad, and he gave the offending Security officer a LARGE kick before recovering his combat knife. =/=all Marines, Report in!=\= He barked on the Marine circuits.
